OLEDs

As companies search for ways to make cheaper displays, the Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) might be the answer. OLEDs use an organic compound that emits light when charged with electricity. That light then shines through diodes that are turned on or off to form images on your screen. Currently used in phones and PDAs, it's cheaper and more efficient than liquid-crystal displays (LCD), but has a shorter product life.
